Primer día de las clases
I realize that the time on my posts is wrong (I can´t figure out how to change it and now the computer is in Spanish so it´s even harder to do), I will try to remember to include the time that I am making my post each time. Today, it is 6:00pm. (The time difference between Spain and the east coast is 6 hours.)
Classes started today. Sandra and I walked to school this morning, but we rode the metro back. We go month long passes for the metro yesterday, so we decided that we wanted to use them and play around on the metro. We actually took it in the wrong direction at first because we couldn´t figure out how to get to the side of the tracks that went in the right direction. We followed the signs, but they lead us up to the street. We got off at the first stop and got on to the metro in the correct direction to get home.
Classes went well. I was able to understand a lot more than I expected to. I am taking advanced conversational and art in Spain. There are about 15 students in my classes. Both classes are with the same group of students, but we have a different professor for each class.
Here what it looks like my schedule Monday-Thursday will be:
get up & eat breakfast whenever (usually around 7:30am)
9:30am-11:10 - Advanced Conversational
11:30-1:30pm - Art in Spain
3pm - lunch
after lunch - siesta
homework, etc.
9pm - dinner
sometime after 11pm - bed
Tomorrow, we´re going to Segovia for our first ¨field trip¨! I´m excited to start seeing other parts of Spain. After Sandra and I leave the locutorio we are probably going start exploring other parts of Madrid. It´s amazing how quickly I´m getting used to the city.
One more thing... we were told that it would be really hot in Madrid. It was hot the first day, but it has been chilly the last 2 days. It´s very pleasant, breezy & in the low 20s (celcius). The sidewalks are mostly in the shade though because of the buildings and trees. I guess in the sun it might actually be hot.

I don't know if you're able to read these comments regularly or not, but I'm going to ask a question :-P Is it normal for the meals to be so late in Spain? Or is that just the way your schedule is working out?
