Hace calor
Sorry I didn´t post last night. Blogger wouldn´t cooperate. So here´s Tuesday & Wednesday.
On one of my posts last week, I said that the weather was very pleasant, well, it got HOT in Madrid!
Tuesday, my ¨grand adventure¨was to the Museo Thyssen (museo=museum) with my class. We had a tour guide who took us around to some of the art work and talked about it. I really have no clue what she said, but I decided that it´s ok because I probably wouldn´t have been paying her much attention if she were speaking English. There were some interesting paintings in the museum. I wish I appreciated art work more because I would have enjoyed the museum more.
Our Art in Spain textbooks finally came on Tuesday. I don´t think I´ve ever been so excited to get a textbook. It´s nice to have something to follow along with the class.
I was really proud of myself yesterday. I went to the market all by myself to buy batteries. :)
Today, my art class took a tour of some of the old buildings in Madrid. Our teacher pointed out some of the arquitecture things that we´ve been talking about in class.
After classes, a group of us went to buy tickets for the bullfight on Sunday. I don´t know how much I´ll enjoy it, but I didn´t want to come to Spain and not see a bullfight.
I think I´m going to be doing homework for the rest of the afternoon. We have journals due tomorrow and I have to finish my last one. We have to turn in 3 journals every Thursday. One has to be about society, one about art, and one about whatever we want to write about (¨personal commentary¨). They each have to be 300+ words, in Spanish of course.
After dinner, some of us are going to Café Central for some live jazz because one of the guys turned 21 today.

You are certainly getting a wide range of cultural experiences - PDA's, beer at BK, a bullfight, art and architecture. What fun!
By now, you have turned in your journals for the week. Enjoy the weekend. We'll look forward to hearing about it.
Love,
Mom
