Cádiz a Madrid
Sunday, I returned to Madrid after a wonderful weekend in the south of Spain. My group checked out of the hotel, after a nice continental breakfast. We had train tickets for 3pm to return to Sevilla, but we had to check out of the hotel at noon. We checked out at noon and went to the restaurante on the beach and chilled there until we needed to leave for the train station.
We figured out which bus went to the train station, but when the first bus came only 3 of the 6 in our group could get on. The other 3 of us waited for the next bus. After we were on the bus, we realized that we were going in the wrong direction. We rode the bus to the end of the line and just paid again when it turned around. We finally got to the train station, but the other 3 girls weren´t there. They eventually showed up and it turned out that they had gotten off the bus at the end of the line and decided to catch a cab.
We caught our train back to Sevilla and halfway there, a group of 3 guys and 1 girl got on. One of the guys couldn´t find a seat and we had 2 empty seats with us, so I pointed the seats out to him. He didn´t know we were American at first. When I asked him where he was from (I had heard them speaking English when they got on) he was like, "Oh, you´re American." Turns out the 4 of them are in the Navy and were supposed to be going to Italy for a few days, but on the way over, they found out that they were actually going to Spain. He´s from New Jersey. We gave him tips on some phrases that would help him (he doesn´t know any Spanish) and what kind of food is good.
They got off before us and when they were getting off I realized that the girl looked really familiar. I asked Patrick what her name was and it turns out that she went to my high school. She was already off the train when I realized it so I didn´t actually talk to her. It´s crazy what a small world it is!
We got to Sevilla and had a few hours until our train to Madrid left, so we went to a restaurant in the train station for lunch/dinner (late lunch for Spain, earlier dinner for the US). I got back to Madrid around 10:30 last night. That was a lot of traveling yesterday, but it was so much fun! That was definitely my favorite trip so far while I´ve been here.
