Delfines y metro surfing
Today, I went to the zoo with Sandra and Rebecca. It was a long way out to the east of the city so we got to explore some different metro stops. The zoo was awesome. Most of the animales were not caged, there was just a wooden fence to separate you. There was an aquarium there too and they had a dolphin show. It was so cool! I wanted to jump in the pool with them. There was a little girl who got to go in an assist the trainers and she got to pet a dolphin. I was jealous. The aquarium was really cool. The shark tank was set up so that it felt like you were actually in the water with them. There was this creature in one of the tanks that was bright green and kinda scarey looking. There wasn´t a sign saying what it was either.
I´m disappointed because I left my camara at the house this afternoon. I switched bags to take a smaller bag to the zoo and my camera didn´t make it into the bag that I took. :( Sandra and Rebecca took some pictures, but their batteries died while we were there. I´ll just have to go back sometime so that I can take fotos.
Sandra and I have decided to take up the sport of metro surfing. We practiced on the way back from the zoo. We did pretty good for beginners. We´re going to be pros by the time we leave here.
I think that´s all for today. I hope everything is going well for all of you at home! :)

Google is a wonderful tool:
Metro surfing - this basically involves standing with your feet together, facing sideways on the metro and trying to see who can stay standing for the longest without using their hands. Oh, and withstanding the bemused stares of EVERYONE on the metro.

I heard a very different definition of metro surfing. But Theresa told me not to post it on this blog as it might scare your mother.

This must be what Christian was talking about:
"Two 14-year-old girls were arrested in Rotterdam on Wednesday for "metro surfing". Police said the two girls rode on the coupling between two metro carriages, but were caught at the Kralingse Zoom station."
That does sound dangerous!
