mejoramiento

I only have a week left in Spain, which has gotten me thinking about differences in my Spanish from before coming to Spain and now. Sometimes I feel like I don´t know anymore than I did before coming here. While I was writing my journals this week, I realized that I really have improved because I was able to write a lot faster and I didn´t have to look up as many words.

There have been many frustrating days where I feel like I can´t speak a word of Spanish, but there are also days when I can speak without much trouble. I´ve noticed a couple things after being here for almost a month 1) when I´m thinking about something, it´s mostly in Spanish and 2) when I think about things that I need to do when I get home, I keep thinking that it´s going to be difficult because I´m going to have to communicate with people and explain things to them, then I realize that it´s not going to be difficult because I don´t have to do it in Spanish. I don´t know if that 2nd one makes much sense, so here´s the best example I can think of. Say I bought something and I need to return it to the store because something is wrong with it. I´ll have to explain to the person at the store what´s wrong with the item, which is really not that difficult to do, but if I had to explain it in Spanish, it would be very difficult.
